Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” Tops Hot Country for 9th Week; Sales at 1.26 Million

Continued enthusiasm over Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” allows the song to earn a ninth straight week atop Billboard’s all-encompassing Hot Country Songs chart.

An impressive feat in any context, the achievement is particularly meaningful for a group effort. To date, only one song released by a group of three or more spent more than nine weeks atop Hot Country Songs.

The Browns’ “Three Bells,” that song, reigned for ten weeks in 1959.

The song’s sales performance has been instrumental in its Hot Country Songs dominance. Again #1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Songs chart, “Girl Crush” moved nearly 73,000 copies during the June 15-21 tracking week.

According to Nielsen Music and Interscope, the song’s cumulative US sales total now sits at 1,263,267. No other song active at country radio has sold even half as many copies.

“Girl Crush” also appears at #9 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
