As the clock struck 12AM ET Friday, music fans began streaming Taylor Swift’s new album “The Life of a Showgirl.” Radio programmers, meanwhile, began spinning songs from the album.

As that album release moment technically came prior to midnight in non-ET US markets, spins from some stations — notably west coast ones — counted as Thursday airplay.

According to Mediabase, several songs registered multiplespins at high-profile stations. “Opalite,” for example, amassed 4 plays from Z100 Portland, 2 from 102.7 KIIS Los Angeles, and 2 from 99.7 NOW San Francisco.

“The Fate of Ophelia,” positioned as the official focus single, received 3 from Z100 Portland and 2 from a handful of stations: KIIS, 99.7 NOW, MOViN 92.5 Seattle, Power Salt Lake City, Hits 93.1 Bakersfield.

“Elizabeth Taylor” garnered 2 plays from each of Z100 Portland and KIIS. “CANCELLED!” and “The Life Of A Showgirl (featuring Sabrina Carpenter)” received 2 from KIIS.

All US stations are sure to continue spinning songs from the album throughout Friday (and likely the whole weekend).
