Country radio has a new #1 song, and it comes from two of the genre’s biggest stars.

Bailey Zimmerman’s “Backup Plan,” which features Luke Combs, indeed makes the two-place rise to #1 on this week’s Mediabase country radio singles chart. Along with leading in chart points, “Backup Plan” ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s most played song for the August 24-30 tracking period.

It meanwhile takes second for audience impressions, narrowly trailing Shaboozey’s “Good News.”

That song holds at #2 on the overall chart, though, as Russell Dickerson’s “Happen To Me” ascends one level to #3. Thomas Rhett’s “After All The Bars Are Closed” falls from #1 to #4, and Scotty McCreery’s “Bottle Rockets (featuring Hootie & The Blowfish)” stays at #5.
