Viewed universally as the highlight of the 49th Annual CMA Awards, Wednesday’s Chris Stapleton-Justin Timberlake duet clearly resonated with music buyers.

Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” and Timberlake’s “Drink You Away,” the songs featured in the duet, went as high as #2 and #3, respectively, on the US iTunes chart.

While not as explosively resonant with radio programmers, both songs did gain airplay following the awards.

“Whiskey” is credited with 143 Mediabase-monitored country radio spins during the November 1-7 tracking week. Timberlake’s “Drink” earned 86 spins.

The airplay, which came almost entirely in the latter half of the tracking week (following the 11/4 performance), respectively establishes the songs as the Mediabase country panel’s #70 and #81 singles.

— Stapleton’s “Nobody To Blame” and “Traveller” also received notable airplay during the November 1-7 tracking period.

The former, which Stapleton performed on a September “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and had been positioning as an official single, received 260 weekly spins. It ranks as the Mediabase country panel’s #63 song.

The latter, which was a previous single and is the title track from Stapleton’s CMA Award-winning album, received 108 weekly plays. It grabs a #73 ranking.
