“Stand By You,” the follow-up to Rachel Platten’s #1 hit “Fight Song,” is rapidly climbing Mediabase’s hot adult contemporary radio airplay chart.
The song, which claimed #31 on last week’s chart, soars to #24 on this week’s listing.
“Stand By You” received ~1,197 plays during the September 20-26 tracking week. This week’s play count bests last week’s by 524; only four other songs — Maroon 5’s #20 Feelings” (+663), Taylor Swift’s #8 “Wildest Dreams” (+647), R. City’s #6 “Locked Away (featuring Adam Levine)” (+598) and X Ambassadors’ #3 “Renegades” (+594) — enjoyed greater gains.
Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” also enters the Top 25 this week. Spun ~1,041 times during the tracking week (+358), the new Bieber tune rises six places to #24.
“What Do You Mean?” is concurrently positioned at #8 on the pop chart and #16 on the rhythmic chart.
