Suffice it to say, Disney Channel is very committed to “Elena Of Avalor.”
Season two has not yet begun airing, but the kids cable network has already ordered a third season of the animated show.
“With this new season order, the creative team, led by Craig Gerber and Silvia Olivas, has some exciting surprises in store for Elena on her journey to becoming queen,” said Disney’s Nancy Kanter. “We’re looking forward to having our young viewers follow along on Elena’s adventure, while also continuing to build the ‘Elena of Avalor’ experience for them beyond the screen.”
The first season of “Elena” is still in progress. Disney notes that the second season will premiere this fall; a start date for season three has not yet been confirmed.
In its press release, Disney touts that “Elena” is US television’s highest-rated series among girls 2-11. It is also a timeslot leader in the UK, Spain and Portugal.
Not simply a success on television, “Elena” is also resonating with toy buyers. Disney notes that the Hasbro line of “Elena”-inspired dolls recently crossed 1 million in sales.
