Pop radio airplay continues to grow for Liam Payne’s “Strip That Down (featuring Quavo).”
Listeners are evidently happy with that reality.
The latest Mediabase/Critical Mass Media callout report confirms that pop radio audiences have a favorable opinion of “Strip That Down.”
Per the report, which is based on a survey of listeners, “Strip That Down” boasts a positive reaction from 62.2% of listeners, a negative reaction from 16.1% of listeners and thus a “net positive” score of 46.2% (rounded). It also garners a “favorite” rating from 20.9% of listeners.
Of the 16 songs measured in this week’s callout report, “Strip That Down” boasts the best (lowest) negative score and second-best net positive score (beneath only Charlie Puth’s “Attention”). Its “favorite” rating is the fourth-best (beneath only Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee & Justin Bieber’s “Despacito,” Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like,” and Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road”).
The “positive” score is not spectacular (it is only the ninth-best), but it is not bad enough to dilute the impact of the other metrics.
Its strong “favorite” rating is particularly helpful in countering any potentially negative perception associated with the low positive score; it is not simply that people do not dislike “Strip That Down.” A solid percentage of listeners seem to love it.
“Strip That Down” may reach #11 (and should be no lower than #12) on this week’s official Mediabase pop radio chart.
