The second-half of season seven will indeed mark the end of Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars.”
Freeform made the news official in a Facebook interview that included creator/showrunner I. Marlene King and cast members Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse, Troian Bellisario and Ashley Benson.
Consisting of ten episodes, the final half-season will premiere in April. It will conclude with a two-hour finale. Specific premiere and finale dates were not available at press time.
“Through brilliant storytelling, compelling characters and social media phenomena, ‘Pretty Little Liars’ paved the way for television shows, writers and cast to interact and engage with audiences on a national and global scale like never before, which led the series to unparalleled success,” said Freeform’s Karey Burke.
Freeform is hoping the end of one I. Marlene King series will help jumpstart her new show. The first string of “Famous In Love” episodes will lead out of the final “Pretty Little Liars” broadcasts (“PLL” will air at 8PM, “Famous” will air at 9PM).
“Based on the novel by Rebecca Serle published by Little, Brown and Company, ‘Famous In Love’ follows ordinary college student Paige (Bella Thorne) as she gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster,” says Freeform of the new series. “She must now navigate her new star-studded life and the highs and lows that come with being the new It Girl in town as well as balancing her college workload.”
“Pretty Little Liars” wraps the first half of its seventh season this Tuesday.
