Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” this week breaks the record for most weeks at #1 in the history of the Mediabase pop chart.
The single secures a 13th frame atop the listing, besting the 12-week record set by The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber’s “STAY” in 2021. Not simply a record for Mediabase, the 13-week mark also bests anything achieved in the prior Radio & Records chart era.
The record on any pop chart still belongs to Ace of Base’s “The Sign,” which ruled the Billboard pop airplay chart for 14 weeks. However, insofar as Headline Planet and key industry sources focus on their reporting Mediabase rather than Billboard, it is wholly accurate to say that “Ordinary” has achieved the longest reign of all-time.
“Ordinary” received another ~16,713 spins during the September 7-13 tracking period, topping last week’s mark by 431 and securing the record.
Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and Ravyn Lenae’s “Love Me Not” respectively hold at #2 and #3, while Justin Bieber’s “DAISIES” climbs a level to #4. Sombr’s “undressed” concurrently drops a place to #5 on the pop chart.
— The Alex Warren single also extends its reign at hot adult contemporary, notching a fifteen week atop the Mediabase chart for that format. The song received ~5,680 Hot AC spins this week (-46).
Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars’ “Die With A Smile” holds at #2, while “Manchild” stays in the #3 spot. “Love Me Not” spends another week as Hot AC’s #4 song, and “undressed” retains the #5 ranking.
