Ratings: “SNL” Falls to Season Low for Scarlett Johansson, Wiz Khalifa Episode

This weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” devoted ample focus to the fact that it was airing opposite the “Fight of the Century” between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Whether that boxing bout truly played a factor is unclear, but the latest “SNL” definitely took a hit. Preliminary ratings data confirms the episode, which featured host Scarlett Johansson and musical guest Wiz Khalifa, was the worst-performing outing of the season.

According to metered market data, Saturday’s “SNL” drew a 3.4 overnight household rating. It drew a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Both represent season lows for “SNL.” Naturally, they also trail the 3.8 overnight household rating and 1.9 adults 18-49 rating delivered by the previous episode, which featured host Taraji P. Henson and musical guest Mumford & Sons.

“SNL” returns next week with host Reese Witherspoon and musical guest Florence + The Machine.
