Christina Grimmie Scores Instant Save; “The Voice” Final 3 Revealed

When it comes to a music competition series, having an army of more than 500,000 Twitter followers provides a very distinct advantage.

Never is the magnitude of that advantage greater than when the contestant competes for the “Instant Save” on NBC’s “The Voice.”

Thanks to her immense following, Christina Grimmie received the Tweets needed to secure the “Instant Save” and earn a spot in the season six finals.

Grimmie, who performed “Apologize” in advance of the Instant Save vote, bested fellow bottom three contestants Kristen Merlin and Kat Perkins to survive. As the week’s top two vote-getters, Jake Worthington and Josh Kaufman had already booked their tickets to next week’s finale.

Merlin’s elimination assures that, for the second time in as many tries, coach Shakira will not have a representative in the finals. Finalists Jake Worthington, Josh Kaufman and Christina Grimmie represent Teams Blake, Usher and Adam, respectively.
