Ratings: FX’s “The Americans Sinks to Another Series Low

Wednesday’s “The Americans” was the series’ least-watched and lowest-rated broadcast on record.

The episode, which was the fifth of the ongoing third season, drew a paltry 0.19 adults 18-49 rating with 811,000 viewers. Down considerably from last week’s episode, which drew a series low 0.24 rating and a near-series low viewership average of 972,000 viewers, the episode continues the ratings woes for FX’s most critically acclaimed offering.

After premiering with a respectable 0.63 rating with 1.895 million viewers, the third season of “The Americans” has faced a significant struggle in its quest to retain, let alone add, viewers. No episode since the season premiere has drawn more than 1.018 million viewers.

Prior to the third season, no “Americans” episode had drawn fewer than 1.119 million.
