Plans For WWE vs. Nexus Summerslam Main-Event, Heel Turn Update

With the Nexus angle ranking as WWE’s hottest ongoing storyline, there has been a great deal of talk about which WWE Superstar would be booked to join forces with the Nexus–names as established as John Cena and Triple H have even come up as potential candidates for heel turns. Summerslam could very well provide a glimpse into how the Nexus-WWE dynamic will change.

Although conventional wisdom based on the booking for RAW suggests that, come Summerslam, the WWE team will rally to defeat Nexus, the internal plan still calls for Nexus to win the upcoming 7-on-7 Summerslam bout. WWE has experienced an increase in buzz and viewership for the ongoing angle, and the present feeling is that it would not be worth risking the future viability of the angle with a major loss on pay-per-view.

What has not been decided, however, is how WWE will go about spurring Nexus’ victory at Summerslam. It is very unlikely that WWE would book Nexus to win the match on undisputed terms, but the company has yet to decide which WWE Superstar or Superstars will be involved in costing the WWE team the match.
