Rumor Emerges on WWE’s Main-Event for WrestleMania 30
Although WWE has technically not even officially confirmed its WrestleMania 29 main-event, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter says that a planned WM30 headliner is already in the cards.
That match, according to reports, will be The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar.
A match between Rock and Lesnar has seemed inevitable since both re-entered the wrestling fold, but the feeling was that it made more sense to go with a Rock vs. John Cena rematch on this year’s WrestleMania.
While the inclusion of the WWE title makes a rematch seem fresh for this year’s show, it is unlikely a third match could draw as a major WrestleMania headliner (they could technically do a third match on something like Summerslam). That means Rock will need a new opponent for the 2014 WrestleMania, and Lesnar seems to be the best fit.
Of course, with WWE more than a month away from this year’s WrestleMania and more than a year away from next year’s, nothing should be taken as official.
