George Sotiropoulos Looks For Hometown Win; UFC 110 Results

In a battle of former “The Ultimate Fighter” contenders–one being a winner–George Sotiropoulos had the chance to prove himself as an elite lightweight in front of his home town.

The task was not going to be easy, however, as George had to deal with TUF 2 winner Joe Stevenson. Though not the most technical fighter, Stevenson has shown finishing ability with his brutal power and the occasionally beyond-tight guillotine.

Who would emerge victorious? The result follows.

The fight went the way of the Australian. Sotiropoulos was not always in the dominant position–but he used his technical proficiency, particularly on the ground, to neutralize any effort from Stevenson. In the end, that meant a unanimous decision victory.

George Sotiropoulos defeated Joe Stevenson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
