Lorde’s “Team” Hits Top 10, Lucy Hale’s “You Sound Good to Me” Surges

Citing data from user searches, Shazam last month predicted that “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale would be one of the artists to watch in 2014.

Odds are looking good that Shazam’s forecast will come to fruition.

Released Tuesday, Hale’s debut country single “You Sound Good to Me” made a quick impact on the iTunes Single Sales chart. By Tuesday evening, it had ascended to number eleven to reign as the week’s highest-charting new release.

Despite making an initial leap into the top ten, “Stand Down,” a promotional track from the deluxe edition of Little Mix’s “Salute,” quickly slipped below the Hale song on the totem pole. At press time, it was number seventeen on the iTunes chart.

If “You Sound Good to Me” wants to embark on its own venture into the top ten, it will have to go through Lorde’s “Team.” After advancing to the low teens over the past week, the “Royals” follow-up officially moved into the top ten Tuesday. Bastille’s “Pompeii,” which also made its first venture into the top ten this week, currently sits at number eight.

Pitbull’s “Timber (featuring Ke$ha)” continues to reign atop the iTunes Single Sales chart. Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse (featuring Juicy J)” is number two.
