She might not have won the most significant awards, but New Artist of the Year Kacey Musgraves definitely did not walk away from the Country Music Association Awards a loser.
Following her live performance, which was censored by CMAs broadcaster ABC, Kacey Musgraves’ latest single “Follow Your Arrow” surged into the top twenty five on iTunes’ overall single sales chart.
And in the days that followed, fans purchased Musgraves’ debut album “Same Trailer Different Park” by the thousands.
According to Hits Daily Double’s sales data, Musgraves’ album, which first released back in March against Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience,” moved roughly 13,170 copies this week. Unranked by Hits last week, “Same Trailer Different Park” rode its improved tally to a Top 30 position on this week’s albums chart.
It was not, however, the only album to benefit from exposure on the CMA Awards.
Blake Shelton’s “Based on a True Story,” which won Album of the Year at the festivities, moved into the top twenty on the strength of about 18,520 units. The total represented a weekly gain of an impressive 141%.
Other country movers included Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party” (Top 15, up 26% to ~30,661 weekly sales) and Florida Georgia Line’s “Here’s to the Good Times” (Top 15, up 54% to ~24,648 weekly sales).
