Meghan Trainor, AJR, Iggy Azalea Advance on iTunes Sales Chart

Based on the latest iTunes sales chart movement, music buyers are very appreciative of self-appreciation.

Meghan Trainor’s empowerment anthem “All About that Bass,” which continues to explode at Top 40 radio, recently reached #20 on the iTunes Single Sales chart.

With buzz unrelenting and airplay only set to increase, “All About That Bass” seems poised to leave a meaningful mark on the music world this summer.

Colbie Caillat’s thematically compatible “Try” is also moving at a high volume on iTunes. The song, which drove a record 850,000 downloads when offered as iTunes’ Free Single of the Week, is positioned at an impressive #22 on the iTunes chart. It is no longer free, but its message is still resonating.

Other notable movement on the leading digital retailer’s overall single sales chart:

— Becky G’s “Shower” and KONGOS’ “Come with Me Now,” which cracked the Top 20 in time for last week’s update and are also among pop radio’s twenty most-played songs, continue to perform well commercially. They rank at #15 and #17, respectively, on iTunes.

— AJR’s enduring “I’m Ready” continues to pick up steam. The song, which has been gradually advancing on iTunes since its spring radio impact, is now #25 on the chart.

— Proof that iHeartRadio is onto something with its “On the Verge” picks, Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” continues to resonate with music buyers. It is #26 on iTunes.

— It is not as hot as her “Problem” collaborator Ariana Grande’s new single “Break Free (featuring Zedd)” (#16 on iTunes), but Iggy Azalea’s new single “Black Widow (featuring Rita Ora)” is rapidly gaining ground. It is #35 on iTunes.

— Shawn Mendes’ “Life of the Party,” which reached #1 upon release earlier this summer, is still making noise. It is #36.

— Echosmith’s “Cool Kids,” which had just cracked the Top 50 in time for last week’s update, is now #46. It had double-digit add weeks at both Top 40 and Hot AC radio.
