“This Is Us” was up 59% from last year’s “24: Legacy” premiere.

While it remains to be seen how the show will fare in the official ratings, the early numbers are promising for Sunday’s “This Is Us.”

Citing metered market data, NBC says the post-Super Bowl episode drew a 16.2 overnight household rating.

The figure ranks as the best for a post-Super Bowl broadcast since the 20.0 attained by NBC’s own “The Voice” in 2012.

The number, moreover, tops that of last year’s post-Super Bowl “24: Legacy” premiere by a whopping 59%.

The episode will obviously rank as the most-watched “This Is Us” yet (of course, insofar as it will almost certainly be coded as a “special,” it will not count toward the show’s historical average). The show’s previous overnight high (9.0) came for the first season finale.

National adults 18-49 and overall viewership data should be available later Monday.

— NBC’s other Sunday Night programming included Super Bowl LII (47.4) and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (5.7).
