The media has never been more infatuated with Louis CK than it is right now, but even with all the excess publicity and the benefit of airing in the same programming block as Charlie Sheen’s “Anger Management,” ratings for his FX series “Louie” remain unimpressive.
Thursday’s airing delivered a mere 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with just 824,000 viewers.
Still, sometimes quality trumps all, and the critically-acclaimed and media beloved “Louie” will be back for a fourth season. FX president John Landgraf confirmed that the network has given the green light to a thirteen episode fourth season, assuring the critical darling comes back next summer.
“Louie” recently picked up a few Emmy nominations, including another best actor nod for Louis CK, although the show again missed out on the Outstanding Comedy Series category. Its omission from that nomination group was considered one of the most unjustified snubs of the season.
FX also ordered seven more episodes of Russell Brand’s “Brand X” talk show. The show’s ratings have been very disappointing thus far.
