Update: The Suns have agreed to a deal with Goran Dragic.
With Steve Nash on his way to Los Angeles, establishing a new point guard is a key focus for the Suns, and former team member Goran Dragic remains a desired candidate.
According to Phoenix radio show host John Gambadoro, the Suns offered Dragic a four year deal for $30 million, which is a competitive offer but not worth the annual $10 million Dragic had reportedly been seeking. That means that a matching offer from Houston is not out of the question, especially since the Rockets are unlikely to pry Jeremy Lin away from the New York Knicks.
Now that Nash is off-limits, sources say the Toronto Raptors are also interested in Dragic, while CBS’ Ken Berger says the Charlotte Bobcats will join the hunt with an offer for the point guard.
If the Suns fail to win the Dragic sweepstakes, the word is that they will look to Raymond Felton as another option at the point. Ramon Sessions, whose decision not to opt-in with the Lakers paved the way for the Nash deal, would also presumably be a possible Phoenix addition.
