“The Boss” Narrowly Tops “Batman v. Superman” At Weekend Box Office; “Hardcore Henry” Soft at #5

Based on studio estimates, “Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice” will not score a third straight week atop the weekend US box office.

Data suggests new release “The Boss,” which has been critically panned in its own right, will seize the throne from the poorly reviewed “Batman v. Superman.”

Estimates have Melissa McCarthy’s “Boss” earning $23.5 million at this weekend’s box office; down 54% from last weekend’s gross, “Batman v. Superman” should take #2 with $23.4 million.

“Zootopia” will hold at #3 with $14.4 million, while “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” slips two places to #4 with $6.4 million.

New release “Hardcore Henry” was not expected to be a strong performer, but its fifth-place, $5.1 million debut is weak even given the industry’s conservative forecast.
