“Boo! A Madea Halloween” Wins US Weekend Box Office; “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” Debuts At #2

Tyler Perry’s Halloween-themed “Madea” movie claims the top spot on the US weekend box office chart.

“Boo! A Madea Halloween” will earn an estimated $27.6 million by the end of Sunday. The gross will be enough for an opening weekend victory.

“Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” will debut at #2 with $23.0 million, while fellow newcomer “Ouija: Origin Of Evil” will take #3 on the strength of its $14.1 million gross.

“The Accountant,” last week’s winner, drops to #4 with $14.0 million (cume now $47.9 million). “The Girl On The Train” takes #5 with $7.3 million (cume now $58.9 million).

“Keeping Up With The Joneses,” the fourth of this weekend’s major new releases, opens at #7 on the weekend box office chart. It will earn a modest $5.6 million.
