Explosive Rumor on Why WWE Supposedly Released Daniel Bryan

While the general assumption from fans and members of the industry is still that Bryan “Daniel Bryan” Danielson’s announced WWE release was a work, sources within the company are at least treating the situation as legitimate.

F4WOnline.com cites internal sources who said that Danielson’s firing was in response to a scene during Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, in which he choked announcer Justin Roberts with his tie. The apparent feeling was that the attack was too violent for television; for what it is worth, WWE edited the footage–arguably one of the more intense Invasion scenes–from the re-airing of the Invasion angle on Tuesday’s NXT telecast.

Obviously, a lot of insiders are having a hard time swallowing that alleged explanation. While the tie scene itself might have been a bit extreme for WWE’s PG environment, it was hardly responsible for taking WWE television to a new level of visual violence. Further, as Bryan was considered a model member of the lockerroom, there is suspicion about whether one minor incident on television–that, despite being graphically violent, was still in the spirit of the rest of the Invasion attack–would be enough to end his WWE tenure, especially given his role in such a hot WWE storyline.

And, of course, given the fact that many still believe the ‘release’ is a work, the explanation is effectively moot for many people. But, for what it is worth, it is indeed what some WWE sources are privately telling the media.

F4W, whose sources have maintained their position that the release was legitimate, also noted that the decision came in response to a complaint very high on the WWE food chain but that once the incident blows over, Danielson would likely be welcomed back.

More updates are undoubtedly expected to clarify the situation.
