It may have fallen 61% from last weekend, but “The Fate Of The Furious” still comfortably ranks as the #1 film at the US box office.

Studio estimates have “Fate” earning $38.7 million in its second weekend. The figure, which brings the film’s cumulative total to $163.6 million, more than triples that posted by the #2 film.

“The Boss Baby,” that #2 film, added $12.8 million to its haul this weekend (cume now $137.0 million).

Credited with another $10.0 million (cume now $471.1 million), “Beauty And The Beast” holds at #3.

“Born In China,” which launched on a modest 1508 screens, debuts at #4. The film earned $5.1 million in its first weekend of release.

“Going In Style” trails closely at #5; it earned $5.0 million in its third weekend (cume now $31.8 million).

— “Unforgettable” and “The Promise,” the weekend’s widest new releases, fall short of the Top 5.

“Unforgettable” starts at #7 with just $4.8 million in opening weekend earnings. “The Promise,” which earned $4.1 million, opens at #9.

“Unforgettable” and “The Promise” opened on 2417 and 2251 screens, respectively.

“Phoenix Forgotten,” which launched on 1592, starts at #11 with $2.0 million.
