“Rogue One” Dominates US Weekend Box Office, “Collateral Beauty” Starts Modestly At #4

Two high-profile films made their box office debuts this week.

One debuted as a dominant #1. The other settled for a modest #4 opening.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” the former, took #1 with an estimated $155.0 million in weekend receipts.

“Collateral Beauty,” the other, settled for $7.0 million.

“Moana,” last weekend’s winner, slips to #2 this week with $11.7 million (cume now $161.9 million). “Office Christmas Party” follows at #3 (-1); it added $8.5 million to its haul (cume now $31.5 million).

Down two places, “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them” grabs #5 on this weekend’s US box office chart. It grossed $5.0 million this weekend (cume now $207.7 million).
