Meghan Trainor’s “Title” Jumps Into Top 5, All Songs Charting (Updated)

Update: By 11:30PM Thursday, Meghan Trainor’s “Title” EP had leapfrogged Ryan Adams’ “Ryan Adams” for the #5 position on iTunes’ album sales chart.

Its four tracks are also on the rise. “All About That Bass” has returned to #1 on the single sales chart, while “Dear Future Husband” is within the Top 50 at #49. “Title” and “Close Your Eyes” are up to #69 and #78, respectively.

Evaluated in the context of her immensely successful “All About That Bass,” which this week rises to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, initial sales interest in Meghan Trainor’s “Title” EP has been modest.

But as the sales week continues to unfold, the release continues to make a bigger statement on iTunes.

The four-song “Title,” which scored high marks from Headline Planet, is up to #6 on the iTunes album sales chart. As of press time, it was ahead of buzzworthy new releases like Dustin Lynch’s #7 “Where it’s At,” BANKS’ #10 “Goddess,” Lee Brice’s #11 “I Don’t Dance,” Vance Joy’s #12 “Dream Your Life Away,” Interpol’s #13 “El Pintor” and Robert Plant’s #21 “lullaby … and the Ceaseless Roar.”

Defined not just by its sum but by its parts, “Title” is represented four times in the Top 100 of the iTunes Single Sales chart.

Lead single “All About That Bass” holds the #2 position, while follow-up “Dear Future Husband” is up to #54. “Title” and “Close Your Eyes,” the other two tracks, are positioned at #72 and #81, respectively.

Based on opening day sales, Hits Daily Double forecast a weekly sales total in the 9-11,000 range. It is unclear whether that projection will dramatically change in the wake of the EP’s ascent into the top 10, but it is clear that Meghan Trainor’s name and music are unavoidable on the key iTunes charts.
