The week’s most-added hot adult contemporary song is about to become of its forty most played tunes.
According to Mediabase, Milky Chance’s alternative crossover “Stolen Dance” is on the verge of jumping into the Top 40. Currently ranked at #41 based on the 403 spins it received during the September 4-September 10 tracking period, “Dance” should be able to leapfrog Iggy Azalea’s #40 “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” by tomorrow.
“Fancy,” which is slowly losing Hot AC airplay, registered 416 spins during the aforementioned tracking period. “Dance” is adding to its weekly spin count at a rate of more than 25 spins per day.
“Stolen Dance,” which is #2 on alternative (and could reach number one in time for Sunday’s official Mediabase chart), garnered 1.87 million Hot AC audience impressions between September 4 and 10.
Pegged as an obvious crossover from the second it debuted on American alternative radio, “Stolen Dance” formally impacts the pop format next Tuesday.
