“Reign'”s Mary, Catherine Prepare for Hell; “Left Behind” First Look

Initially written off by some for its disinterest in historical accuracy, The CW’s freshman drama “Reign” has been steadily cultivating a passionate following.

Whether that following can garner the series a second season remains to be seen, but with a full first season confirmed and weeks of ratings stability–and even slight growth–in the bag, it need not succumb to immediate fear.

It, instead, should ready its enthusiasm engines for more drama. Following a break for Thanksgiving, “Reign” returns with another action-packed installment in “Left Behind.”

This week, the central characters find their castle under attack. Facing a very real threat to the castle and to Francis, Mary and Catherine must unite with a willingness “go into Hell together.”

The CW’s official synopsis, promotional videos and episodic images follow:

Season 1: “Left Behind”

MARY AND FRANCIS UNITE TO SAVE A CASTLE UNDER SIEGE —Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Francis (Toby Regbo) are forced to rely on one another when the castle is taken hostage, and Catherine (Megan Follows) shocks everyone when she makes a surprising proposal to try to save their lives. Meanwhile, Bash’s mother Diane (Anna Walton) tells Bash (Torrance Coombs) of her plan to have him legitimized. Alan Van Sprang, Caitlin Stasey, Jenessa Grant, Anna Popplewell and Celina Sinden also star. Jeremiah Chechik directed the episode written by Drew Lindo (#107).
