Bruce Springsteen’s “Wrecking Ball” Album Sales Pacing With Adele’s “21”

Bruce Springsteen’s new “Wrecking Ball” studio album will score an impressive debut sales figure this week, although it might not be enough to remove Adele’s monster “21” from the top spot on the Billboard 200.

According to Hits Daily Double’s forecast, which is an extension of single-day sales data from Tuesday, both albums are pacing for about 200-225,000, which suggests a tight race leading into next week’s sales charts.

Springsteen’s previous studio “Working on a Dream” debuted in conjunction with his 2009 Super Bowl performance to the tune of 224,000 first-week copies, and it is likely “Wrecking Ball” will land in that territory. “Dream,” however, was a clear number one, and it remains to be seen if the new album can repeat that feat.
