Sam Hunt, Rachel Platten, Years & Years Reach Pop Radio’s Top 40

Three diverse songs vault into the Top 40 on this week’s official Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

Leading the charge is Sam Hunt’s country crossover “Take Your Time.” The song, which reached #1 at the country format and already claims a Top 25 position at hot adult contemporary, reaches #38 on this week’s pop chart.

Up three places, it received 1,444 spins during the May 24-30 tracking week.

Also new to the Top 40 is Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.” The song, which has emerged as a strong performer on iTunes, rises five places to a new peak of #39 at pop radio. It earns that position on the strength of its 1,338 weekly spins.

As it makes inroads at pop, “Fight Song” continues to enjoy an impressive position at hot adult contemporary, where it received support from the iHeartRadio “On the Verge” program. It holds at #11 on the Mediabase Hot AC chart.

An international hit, Years & Years’ “King” is the third of this week’s additions to the pop Top 40. Spun 1,246 times this week, it rises five places to a new peak of #40 on the Mediabase pop chart.
