Unsurprising given the promotional support it received for its debut, Selena Gomez’ “The Heart Wants What it Wants” ranks as the week’s most-added pop song.
According to Mediabase, the song, which is already a Top 40 pop hit, received 81 monitored adds this week. That count gives Gomez’ new tune a comfortable margin of victory over a very crowded pack of new and recent releases.
Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” ranks as the week’s next-most-added track on the strength of 60 monitored pickups. Already a very buzzworthy release, “Uptown Funk” is due to receive high-profile exposure on the November 22 edition of “Saturday Night Live.”
Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” which has emerged as a runaway hit (and was most-added last week), scored 38 adds in conjunction with what was technically billed as its official impact. Fifth Harmony’s new “Sledgehammer” claims fourth-most-added courtesy 36 new pickups, while Iggy Azalea’s developing smash “Beg for It (featuring MØ)” takes the week’s fifth-most-added position. It landed at 32 stations this week.
Priory’s alternative crossover “Weekend” grabs sixth-most-added on the strength of 29 adds, which gave it the edge over OneRepublic’s “I Lived.” Seventh-most-added this week, the OneRepublic track located 23 takers.
Alesso’s “Heroes (we could be – featuring Tove Lo)” and Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” share eight-most-added with 20 pickups each, while Shawn Mendes’ “Something Big” closes out the top ten with 20 adds.
