The next pop radio add deadline — the date on which we will next receive an official add report — is not until January 3.
Some stations, however, are confirming new pickups well in advance of that date.
Chicago’s B96 is on that list.
The station confirms that it has added Krewella’s “Team” and Little Mix’s “Shout Out To My Ex” to its playlist.
B96 has been a top early airplay supporter for both songs; it played “Team” eight times and “Shout Out To My Ex” twelve times in the past seven days.
The support should not be surprising. Krewella is from the Chicago area, while B96 has previously demonstrated enthusiasm for Little Mix. It, as an example, called the group’s single “Hair” a “hot pick” in the All Access/Mediabase radio programmer survey last May. “Hair” did not end up taking off (or even receiving an official “impact date”) in the US, but B96’s interest is documented nonetheless.
