Update: Late Friday morning, Kenny Chesney’s “Setting The World On Fire (featuring P!nk)” reached #1 on the US iTunes sales chart.

It was cited as one of the key reasons Kenny Chesney’s forthcoming album was delayed from July to October, so it naturally entered the market with high expectations.
Thus far, it is proving resonant with buyers. Kenny Chesney’s new “Setting The World On Fire (featuring P!nk),” which premiered at radio Thursday evening and on digital platforms Thursday night, is #2 on the US iTunes sales chart as of 9:30AM ET. Only Major Lazer’s “Cold Water” is presently selling at a better rate.
It will be interesting to see if “Setting The World On Fire” can muster up enough momentum to reach #1; “Cold Water” has not ceded its throne since last Friday’s release.
As the Chesney-P!nk duet flirts with the very top of the chart, another collaboration impressively moves into the Top 10.
gnash’s “i hate u, i love u (featuring olivia o’brien)” is currently #9 on the listing. While the $0.69 discounted price point is certainly helping, such discounts do not automatically thrust songs into the Top 10. This song, despite its fairly modest radio support, is clicking with music fans.
As Headline Planet reported earlier this month, it is already gold in the United States.
