In the epitome of an unsurprising outcome, the four new tracks from the “Encore” edition of Taylor Swift’s “The Life Of A Showgirl” ruled Spotify Friday.
“Patient Zero,” the official single from the new album edition, debuted at #1 on the Global and US Spotify Streaming Charts. It earned the former spot thanks to its ~13.709 million worldwide streams on September 25; the latter comes courtesy of the ~6.125 million it received in the US specifically.
“Cleveland!” (#2, 9.621 million worldwide, 4.713 million US), “Pink Clouding” (#3, 8.785 million worldwide, 4.250 million US), and “Babylon” (#4, 8.419 million worldwide, 4.125 million US) form the next spots on both charts.
The re-issue also drove renewed streaming interest in the original edition, with hit singles “The Fate Of Ophelia” and “Opalite” making particularly big gains. The songs soared back into the Top 10 and Top 15 on the US chart, respectively. The corresponding global gains resulted in returns to the Top 10 and Top 40 for the respective tracks.
