Last Friday, Headline Planet exclusively confirmed that Drake’s “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” became the first 2015 release to cross the 1 million US sales mark.
Amid that sales achievement, “If You’re Reading This” has officially earned a platinum distinction from the RIAA.
The standard platinum certification confirms a US shipment total in excess of 1 million. While some releases benefit greatly of “shipment” qualification, Drake’s album has indeed secured 1 million customer purchases.
Since it had not been previously certified, “If You’re Reading This” also received a retroactive gold certification.
