Weezer’s “Back to the Shack” Again Dominates at Rock, Alt Radio

Not a one-and-done release, Weezer’s “Back to the Shack” again registers as the most-added track at active rock and alternative radio.

According to Mediabase, the latest from the veteran alt-rock act landed at another 22 monitored active rock stations this week. Its add count at alternative was even more impressive 31.

Once again, no other song garnered even half as much attention at the respective formats.

The next-most-added active rock songs included Royal Blood’s “Figure it Out” (9 monitored adds), J. Roddy Walston and the Business’ “Take it As it Comes” (6), Skillet’s “Rise” (5), Chevelle’s “Hunter Eats Hunter” (4), Otherwise’s “Darker Side of the Moon” (4) and Thousand Foot Krutch’s “Born this Way” (4).

Beyond “Back to the Shack,” alternative radio programmers were also notably interested in Priory’s “Weekend” (10 monitored adds), Bear Hands’ “Agora” (7), Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” (7) and Interpol’s “All the Rage Back Home” (6).

Already a hit at both formats, “Back to the Shack” was the 21st-most-played active rock song and 13th-most-played alternative song for the seven days ending July 28.
