Sara Bareilles Surprises With Album of the Year Grammy Nomination

It took more than twenty minutes for a surprise to emerge in CBS’ live Grammys nominations special.

That surprise, which came during the reading of the Album of the Year nominations, involves Sara Bareilles securing a nomination for her “The Blessed Unrest.”

Though enjoyed by critics, the album was not considered a frontrunner for meaningful love at the annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

Other Album of the Year nominations include Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “The Heist,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Good Kid, MAAD City” and Taylor Swift’s “Red.”
