FX’s “The Bridge” Ratings Fall; Latest Episode Ties Series Low

Despite offering the follow-up to last week’s game-changing episode, in which David Tate–with whom Alma was beginning an affair–was revealed as the central killer, Wednesday’s “The Bridge” suffered a ratings decline.

Though its viewership average remained slightly above its proverbial floor, its rating in the coveted adults 18-49 dropped to tie the series low it set in its second week on the air.

Wednesday’s episode drew just a 0.5 rating with 1.65 million viewers.

If there is a silver lining in the decline, it comes from the fact that FX’s winter-spring launch “The Americans” also posted a weak showing for its ninth episode. The comparable “Americans” episode delivered a mere 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with a series low 1.38 million viewers.

Declining at this stage in the game, especially after a major storyline reveal, is certainly not a positive, but outperforming a show that FX already renewed for a second season is not the worst accomplishment in the world.
