Jonas Brothers’ early signature “Burnin’ Up” and recent comeback smash “Sucker” just reached multi-platinum status in the United States.
According to the RIAA, the songs earned double-platinum certifications on August 30, 2019. The awards confirm 2 million in US units, with each unit equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
With the new certifications, “Burnin’ Up” and “Sucker” become Jonas Brothers’ only multi-platinum singles in the United States. Their only other RIAA-certified song is “Runaway,” the Sebastian Yatra-Daddy Yankee-Natti Natasha song on which they appear as featured artists. That song holds a platinum award under the RIAA’s Latin Music Program (60K units = platinum).
“Burnin’ Up” reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in the summer of 2008. “Sucker” debuted at #1 this past spring, becoming the trio’s first career chart-topper.
