As Bruno Mars’ “Finesse (featuring Cardi B)” was a big hit last year, it should come as no surprise that the acts’ new collaboration had a big opening day.

Cardi B & Bruno Mars’ “Please Me,” that song, rocked to #1 on the US iTunes sales chart.

It also received a healthy amount of support at pop, rhythmic and urban radio.

According to Mediabase, “Please Me” closed day one with 1,971 pop radio spins. The count positions “Please Me” at #27 on the building/real-time pop chart, which ranks songs based on the first six days of the February 10-16 tracking period.

“Please Me” had also received 682 rhythmic spins (#32 on building) and 649 urban spins (#42 on building) by the close of Friday

Responsible for 28 spins, Las Vegas’ 98.5 KLUC ranked as the top opening day supporter at pop. Honolulu’s Power 104.3 (29 spins) led the way at rhythmic, while New York’s Power 105.1 provided the biggest urban contribution (24 spins).

As it benefited from opening day excitement and “on the hour” airplay from numerous stations, “Please Me” will doubtfully receive as many spins on Saturday as it did Friday.

It should nonetheless receive enough to remain inside the Top 40 at pop and rhythmic radio and Top 50 at urban radio as this week’s charts go final.
