Ariana Grande & Social House’s new single “Boyfriend” received an unsurprisingly significant amount of first-day enthusiasm at pop radio.

According to Mediabase, the new single had received 883 pop radio plays by the end of Friday. The tally paces “Boyfriend” for a Top 50 — if not Top 40 — position on this week’s official rankings, which will account for the entire July 28-August 3 tracking period.

Twelve stations played “Boyfriend” more than 20 times across late Thursday and Friday. Another eighteen stations have offered at least 10 spins.

The radio support accompanies a strong opening day showing on the sales and streaming fronts.
