As it currently stands, The Weeknd’s “My Dear Melancholy,” appears poised for #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard 200 charts.

Based on early-week data, Hits Daily Double expects “My Dear Melancholy” to sell 55-65,000 pure US copies this week.

The inclusion of TEA (track sales/10) and SEA (track streams/1500) should yield a first-week consumption total in the 150-175,000 range.

The pure sales total should be enough for #1 on Billboard Top Album Sales, while the consumption tally should lead to a #1 bow on the Billboard 200.

“My Dear Melancholy” would represent the third #1 album for The Weeknd, who previously topped the Billboard 200 with “Beauty Behind The Madness” and “Starboy.”
