Katy Perry’s “Rise” Ranks As Hot AC Radio’s Most Added For Third Straight Week

Katy Perry [ABC]

Last week, Katy Perry’s “Rise” achieved the impressive feat of topping a second consecutive hot adult contemporary radio add board.

This week, it does something decidedly more impressive — and decidedly more rare. It earns the Hot AC format’s most added distinction for a third straight week.

Perry’s NBC Olympics anthem was added by another 13 Mediabase-monitored stations this week. The count gives “Rise” the edge over Gavin DeGraw’s “She Sets The City On Fire,” which received 11 weekly pickups.

With 9 adds each, Major Lazer’s “Cold Water (featuring Justin Bieber & MØ)” and James Bay’s “Hold Back The River” tie for third-most added. A tie also emerges for fifth place; Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better” and Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For (featuring Rihanna)” each received 8 weekly adds.

Lukas Graham’s “Mama Said” takes seventh with 6 adds, while Colbie Caillat’s “Goldmine” and Fitz And The Tantrums’ “HandClap” tie for eighth place with 5 adds.

A whopping nine songs — Andy Grammer’s “Fresh Eyes,” Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman,” Britney Spears’ “Make Me,” Florida Georgia Line’s “H.O.L.Y.,” Ingrid Michaelson’s “Hell No,” Tegan And Sara’s “Stop Desire,” The 1975’s “The Sound,” Walking On Cars’ “Speeding Cars,” and Wrabel’s “11 Blocks” — follow in a tie for 10th place. Each received 4 weekly pickups.
