Three consecutive strong ratings performances have earned “Blindspot” a full season at NBC.
News of the full season pickup, which adds the “back nine” to the show’s initial thirteen episode (for 22 total), came Friday.
Across its first three weeks, “Blindspot” has been an impressive live+same-day ratings performer. It has also received particularly significant boosts from time-shifting.
This week’s episode, for instance, posted a 2.44 adults 18-49 rating with 9.062 million total viewers according to live+same-day data. Already impressive, the numbers improved to a 3.95 adults 18-49 rating and 13.391 million total viewers in Nielsen’s live+3 report, which accounts for the initial broadcast and three days of time-shifted viewing.
Its L+3 viewership gain exceeds that achieved by CBS’ blockbuster “The Big Bang Theory” (+4.2 million) — and all other Monday night programs. It will likely rank as one of the biggest (if not the biggest) L+3 viewership gains for the entire week.
The previous two episodes, after all, achieved that “greatest weekly gainer” honor.
