Mariah Carey’s “Infinity” Positioned in Top 50 at Urban Radio, Top 60 at Pop

In conjunction with its official impact on May 4 and 5, Mariah Carey’s new single “Infinity” received more overall weekly radio adds than any other song. It was one of the week’s five most added songs at the pop, rhythmic, urban and urban adult contemporary formats.

That impressive showing of first week support did not, however, place “Infinity” on the fast track to radio success. The song did not fare nearly as well on the following week’s add board. Moreover, its performance on the airplay charts has thus far been modest.

“Infinity” is available at pop, rhythmic, urban, hot adult contemporary, adult contemporary and urban adult contemporary radio. As of the May 10-16 tracking week, it appears inside the Top 40 on the Mediabase chart for only one of those formats. It has not even broken the Top 50 at five of them.

Its most notable success has thus far come at Urban AC. There, “Infinity” appears at #22 on the most recent Mediabase chart. It received 295 spins (+68) during the May 10-16 tracking week.

“Infinity” is, meanwhile, the #50 song at Urban. Its Top 50 position comes courtesy its 330 (+112) tracking week spins.

Cut from Carey’s “#1 to Infinity” compilation, “Infinity” is #57 on the Mediabase pop chart. Up five places this week, it received 341 (+110) tracking week pop spins.

“Infinity” has yet to reach the Top 60 at rhythmic, the Top 60 at hot adult contemporary or Top 50 at adult contemporary.
