Nate Ruess, The Weeknd, Calvin, BANKS, Mat Kearney Go Top 40 at Hot AC Radio

Five songs officially ascend into the top 40 of Mediabase’s weekly hot adult contemporary airplay chart.

Leading the charge is Nate Ruess’ “Nothing Without Love.” The fun. singer’s solo release, which is also a Top 40 hit at alternative, soars twelve places to #33 on this week’s edition of the chart. It commanded 462 spins during the March 1-7 tracking week.

Also new to the Top 40 is The Weeknd’s “Earned It.” Already a top 40 hit at pop and a top 10 hit on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100, “Earned It” jumps ten places to #37 on this week’s Hot AC listing. It received 366 tracking week spins.

Calvin Harris’ top ten pop hit “Outside (featuring Ellie Goulding)” also ascends into the Hot AC top 40 this week. It ranks as the format’s #38 song (+6) courtesy its 311 tracking week spins.

BANKS’ “Beggin for Thread,” which last year entered the alternative radio Top 15 as an “On the Verge” track, is now a top 40 song at hot adult contemporary. It earned the #39 spot (+4) via its 297 weekly spins.

Mat Kearney’s “Billion” claims #40 (+6) with 280 weekly spins.
