Grammys: Pentatonix Wins for “Daft Punk,” Beyonce Gets on the Board

Pentatonix RCA)

Less than two months ago, a capella sensation Pentatonix watched its album “That’s Christmas to Me” officially cross the one million sales mark. It was far and away the hottest Christmas album of 2014 — and one of the year’s most successful releases period.

2015 is still very young, but it has already brought great news for the “Sing Off” winners.

News came during the GRAMMY Premiere ceremony that the group’s “Daft Punk” won the Grammy for “Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella.” As arrangers, the five members of Pentatonix and Ben Bram were all announced as victors.

The track beat out The Pete McGuinness Jazz Orchestra’s “Beautiful Dreamer,” Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band’s “Get Smart,” Alfredo Rodríguez’ “Guantanamera” and Amy Dickson’s “Chris Walden.”

— The premiere show has also earned Beyonce a placement on the board.

Nominated six times tonight, Beyonce will walk away with at least one trophy – her “Beyonce” won for “Best Surround Sound Album.”
