Update 3: Hits Daily Double’s opening week sales projection for Chris Brown’s “X” has been raised to 130-140,000.
Unfortunately for Brown, the forecast for Barbra Streisand’s “Partners” received an even more significant upward adjustment. Now on pace for a bow in the ballpark of 160,000, “Partners” will be the week’s best-selling album.

Update 2: Based on very early sales data, Hits Daily Double projects that Chris Brown’s “X,” which holds the #1 spot on iTunes, will score a total of roughly 120,000 sales in its first week.
Barbra Streisand’s “Partners” is on track to land in a similar ballpark.

Update: As of 1PM ET Tuesday, Chris Brown’s “X” was still leading the iTunes album sales chart.
The portrait beneath the number one spot has not, however, held steady. Barbra Streisand’s “Partners” is now the #2 album, while For King & Country’s “Run Wild, Live Free, Love Strong” is up to #3.
Tim McGraw’s “Sundown Heaven Town” and Train’s “Bulletproof Picasso” are now positioned at #4 and #5, respectively.

Several noteworthy albums debuted Tuesday, but none is as compelling to iTunes buyers as Chris Brown’s “X.”
The pop-R&B artist’s latest release surged to the top of the iTunes Album Sales chart immediately upon release Tuesday morning.
Fueled by singles like “Loyal” and “New Flame,” “X” is the follow-up to Brown’s 2012 release “Fortune.”
Train’s new “Bulletproof Picasso” currently holds the #2 position on iTunes, while country veteran Tim McGraw’s “Sundown Heaven Town” claims third place. Barbra Streisand’s duets album “Partners” and Slash’s “World on Fire (featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators)” are sitting in the #4 and #5 slots on iTunes.
Other top ten sellers as of press time include Motionless in White’s #6 “Reincarnate,” George Strait’s #7 “The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium,” Maroon 5’s #8 “V,” Jhene Aiko’s #9 “Souled Out” and One Direction’s #10 “FOUR” (pre-order).
Numerical sales forecasts are due within the next 36 hours.
