“Dancing with the Stars” Ratings Down for Premiere

If you found yourself unimpressed by the cast list for ABC’s latest “Dancing with the Stars,” you were not alone. The combination of a low-profile list of stars and audience fatigue led to a disappointing rating for the season premiere.

With a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating and 14.98 million viewers, Monday’s “Dancing” premiere trailed the previous two cycle launches.

The seventeenth cycle, which kicked off in September 2013, posted a 3.1 with 16.04 million. Last spring’s sixteenth cycle premiere garnered a 3.2 with 17.06 million.

“Castle,” which followed the “Dancing” premiere, posted a 1.7 with 9.86 million.
